About
A little about me, and how I came to this work
Choosing a therapist is personal. It helps to know something of the person you might be sitting with.
My story
I came to psychotherapy because I became fascinated by the gap between how things look on the outside and how they feel on the inside. Before training as a therapist, I worked in [previous career or field], where I saw again and again how much people carry quietly, and how rarely they are given the time and space to put it into words.
My own experience of being in therapy shaped me deeply. I know what it is to sit in the client's chair — the nerve of the first session, the strangeness of being truly listened to, and the slow, surprising relief of understanding yourself a little better.
That experience is at the heart of how I work: with warmth, patience and genuine curiosity about each person's inner world. I don't believe people are problems to be fixed. I believe our difficulties, however painful, usually make a kind of sense — and that making sense of them together can open up new possibilities.
What it's like to work with me
I'm warm and engaged, but I won't rush you or fill silences that might be doing useful work. I'll sometimes offer a thought or a connection I've noticed; I'll always check whether it rings true for you. You remain the expert on your own life — my role is to help you hear yourself more clearly.
I welcome all of you into the room: the parts you're proud of and the parts you'd rather hide, the feelings that feel acceptable and the ones that don't.
